My dear friend Maddy asked to see the new dishes I was talking about so here's a picture. They're a really rich cream colour with a "crackle"-like finish. the dark colour is a dark chocolate brown. They're a really close match to our table which I don't really like but I'm hoping that in the near future we'll be able to buy a new dinette set and I'm hoping to find something in a dark finish. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I only bought 8 place settings and I want to do an additional setting in another colour. I bought a set of red dinnerplates....and I'm not too sure about it. Might be a little too bright and flashy for me ;). What I'd really like is some dark chocolate brown dishes but I haven't seen any anywhere. If anyone knows where I could find some....PLEASE let me know! In the meantime, I would love all of your opinions on the red set...just leave it in the comments. Tell me what you think :).

I looooove your new dishes! Super classy. I like the red, but I'm like you -- a little more subdued. What about icy light blue? I'm obsessed with dark brown and light blue.

Thanks Maddy! You know, I never would have thought of a light blue but that would actually look really really nice. And I've seen those colours around. I just might do that. This past winter I changed my bathroom to a tan/beige and light icy blue and it I like how it looks...I wouldn't have thought of it for my kitchen. Thanks again!! :)
