My brother was in town!!

Last week Josh and Tracy stopped by for a couple of days. They had spent a week up in Edmonton and then drove down to spend 2 nights here with us before heading home. It was soooo nice to see them and the kids. The boys are always thrilled to have family come and visit. It was very cute to see how Sam and Jirah got along. They spent almost the whole time in spiderman costumes! They had so much fun playing together.

And here they are in just ONE of their many very cool superhero poses:

Jude and Keziah....Jude was giving me goofy faces. How gorgeous is my niece?!?!:

Jirah had a great time beating up Jonah...and Jonah would just laugh. Boys....

Josh and Seth watching "Ultimate Fighting" videos on Youtube:

Keziah loved playing with Jonah too:

We were playing "Apples to Apples" and Josh told Jonah to choose his card "or else". It certainly created some extra "drama". ;) Josh seemed to really enjoy the boys collection of nerf guns..lol!

Seth decided to make himself a mask of protection out of masking tape:

And on to other things from last week. On Tuesday the boys went to Boys Brigade and during some kind of running around game (???) Jonah tripped, bashed his head on a wall and got a huge gash in his forehead. They took him to urgent care and got him stitched up. I was in Calgary at the time but got back in time to be with him while he got the stitches. The "ranger" that was with Jonah told me that in the 5 years Boys Brigade has been running this is the first time something like this happened...crazy!! He was so tough...didn't cry at all during the freezing or the stitches. Anyway...this is how Jonah looked when we got home. It's kind of gross... his hair was all matted with blood..it must have gushed pretty good. It looked terrible.

After stitching it up they covered it with polysporin.

He had 5 stitches. He actually got them out just this morning...and it looks really good.

This was Seth and Jonah on the weekend. Sitting out on the deck, reading books, and enjoying the sunshine. Then on Sunday...we had 2 feet of snow again. Grrrrr. But thankfully it's melting fast.

And lastly....this is what I'm focused on THIS week. The wonderful experience of potty training. ;) I just keep telling myself "this is the last one!!!!" I just started today and he's actually catching on quite well. We've gone through lots of undies today...but by 4:00...he was getting quite good at catching it and at least 'finishing' on the potty...lol.

The portable DVD player comes in handy for all sorts of things:

Sam the Super

This morning Samuel was up at 5:30 and went to work with Trev. We seriously need to start doing more one-on -one time with the boys so this is our start. Sam absolutely loved it. He came home exhausted but very excited. Apparently the guys liked having him there. Trev's " right hand man" had Sam telling the guys "less chatting, more working" :O. LOL. I heard he was also up on the edge of the top of the building...gulp...don't tell a mother these things. But I'm glad he had fun. Here's a few pictures Trev took.

Sneaky boy

Yesterday morning I did my grocery shopping (don't get me started on how much grocery shopping I do!!). I gave in to temptation (once again) and bought a bag of chocolate Hershey 'Eggies'...they're ONLY available until Easter after all!! ;) Anyway, Jude and I got home, I put my groceries away and I put my wonderful chocolates into a little bowl and into my secret cupboard where no one knows I stash chocolates..lol.

After lunch I decided to share my treats and gave Jude a couple of 'eggs'. A few minutes later he asked me to open the cupboard he was pointing to....the medicine cabinet. So I opened it...he shook his head, said 'no' and pointed to another. He reacted the same way and went to point at a third. When I opened "the" cupboard and he saw the chocolates, gave me a huge smile and said he wanted more "pwease??". Anyway, I indulged him and we went on with our day.

Then, last night, after all the boys were in bed and Trev and I were finally settling down to sleep, we were just chatting when suddenly Trev says "WHAT is THIS?!?!" And he proceeded to pull out the bowl full of chocolates from underneath his pillow and as he sat back up about 10 or more little chocolate eggs rolled out from under him. I laughed so hard. I guess at some point in the evening Jude had snuck them out of the cupboard and hid them....and did it without any of his brothers seeing it....how do I know they didn't see???? Because there would have been NO chocolates left!!

I just love that little boy....he makes me laugh every day. This morning I brought the bowl of chocolates out of my room and asked him what they were doing under Daddy's pillow....he gives me the HUGEST grin ever and says "I...DON'T....KNOW...mommy!!" Suuuuure........

I was downloading my pictures today and came across some photos on my camera that I never took. My older boys can be sneaky too. And what were they taking pictures of??? Neo Shifters, of course!!! ;)

Notice how they nicely posed them in of the the fire background for extra drama...lol.

And guess what we had for supper on Friday night???
